Yesterday I taught my very first textured iris workshop at Laguna Art-A-Fair.

We gathered inside the Laguna Art-A-Fair pavilion, right across from the stage. It was a lovely place to paint together, surrounded by artists and visitors.



One thing I realized is that a textured iris is quite a challenging project, especially for people with little or no painting experience. Even for me, it takes much longer than four hours to create a textured iris I'm truly happy with.

I hope no one felt too stressed. I hope everyone had fun, tried something new, and enjoyed the creative process, no matter the final result.

The workshop was a learning experience for me too. I already have lots of ideas for making the next one easier, better organized, and even more fun. I'm learning with every workshop, and I hope each one will be a little better than the last.

Thank you to everyone who came and trusted me with my very first workshop. It meant a lot to me.


This is just the beginning, and I'm looking forward to the next one. 🤍
