Yesterday I taught my second textured iris workshop at Laguna Art-A-Fair, and I had such a wonderful time.

It was a joy spending the day with such kind, creative, and inspiring ladies. I loved watching each painting come to life and seeing how everyone made their iris uniquely their own.

I really enjoyed answering questions, sharing techniques, and watching everyone's confidence grow throughout the day. Every participant created a beautiful iris, and it was wonderful to see how proud they were of their work.

One thing I also realized through these workshops is how much they taught me as an artist. Although textured irises aren't the main focus of my work, exploring this technique gave me a deeper understanding of creating texture—from applying modeling paste with a piping bag to shaping it with a palette knife. Sometimes the best way to truly learn something is to teach it. I look forward to incorporating what I've learned into my future paintings in new and unexpected ways.

Thank you to everyone who joined me. Your kindness, creativity, and enthusiasm made this day truly special. I hope you enjoyed the experience as much as I did and that your textured iris brings you joy every time you see it. 🤍
