Unfolding Iris I

Emerging from a fluid landscape of warm earth tones, soft peach, and smoky neutrals, a blue iris slowly unfolds. Its sweeping petals and curved stem move through the marbled surface, creating a feeling of quiet transformation — as though the flower is finding its way through an ever-changing environment.

Unfolding Iris I is a symbolic floral painting exploring growth, transformation, and the beauty of becoming. Shades of blue and violet meet warm bronze, peach, and earthy tones, while the curved stem and emerging buds suggest movement, resilience, and life continuing to unfold.

The iris has long been associated with hope, wisdom, and renewal. Here, it appears within an organic, flowing background where forms seem to shift and evolve around it. The contrast between the delicate flower and the expressive surface reflects the idea that growth does not always happen in stillness — sometimes it emerges through change.

Built through layered mixed media, expressive brushwork, and fluid marbled textures, the surface reveals subtle variations of color and movement throughout the composition. The combination of botanical form and abstraction gives the painting a contemporary, organic quality while preserving the emotional presence of the iris.

With its palette of blue, violet, peach, bronze, and earthy neutrals, Unfolding Iris I works beautifully in contemporary, organic modern, eclectic, and neutral interiors, bringing color and movement to a living room, bedroom, reading space, or intimate gallery wall.
